Anyone seen or heard of the new park that's being built in Coney Island that's opening May 29th? I had no idea about it till last week when I saw an ad about it on the train. I'm pretty excited to see how its all going to come about. I'm not expecting it to be anything extravagant like Six Flags, Dorney Park and the such but I want to see if the rides are more revamped and fun this time around.

Here's a virtual tour so far:

I must say, I'm very happy that they decided on the historic name of Luna Park...as opposed to some kind of greasy, corporate-sponsored name.

I was thinking the same exact thing last night. I totally agree. I'm going to go out there this Saturday and Sunday to see how things are looking. Hopefully, it'll be great.

When the second phase opens, Coney is going to be a year-round phenomenon--not just Memorial Day to Labor Day. (The only problem with that is...the lines at Nathan's will never get shorter!)

c i will not ever be year round phenomenon...too many criminals...there was a stabbing in broad daylight on the opening day of the new park in '09! The whole place should be torn down from 10th street right up to sea gate. Get all of "those" people out then rebuild!!! BUT that won't ever happen!!
