I am hoping to visit New York for a day trip. We are flying to DC. Will be driving from Baltimore. I have been weighing different options. One is to drive to Staten Island and park near the Ferry terminal to take the Ferry to Manhattan. Will it be difficult to find parking at the St. George Terminal? Are there any other parking lots close to the Ferry terminal? Forgot to mention the trip will be on a Monday so that would change the traffic scenario? By what time should I aim to reach Staten Island (traffic???)?

Also in one day what should I absolutely see in New York? I will have my 4 year odl son with me and he can slow us down a bit!

Thanks in advance!
