I'll be in NYC for a weekend next month and am trying to find a hostel to stay. I'm going to be going to the Yankees game one night, so ideally somewhere that's not too far from Yankee Stadium. Other than that, I figured I'd check out Central Park as I haven't been there before. Are those two places nearby at all? Any suggestions for a decent hostel in a decent area would be appreciated!

Centralparkhostel.com? 103rd and Amsterdam. You'd be on the B/D line for Yankee Stadium and at Central Park. There's a bunch of hostels around there too, just do some googling.

Chelsea Hostel is super nice. I live hear it and its seems to be a happening place to be. No where near Yankee Stadium but by everything else you will probably want to do.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Can someone give me a general area of vicinity to stay in? I don't know much about the NYC areas. I guess the most important things are that I'm not too terribly far from Yankee Stadium, am in a younger area (I'm 27) with a fun nightlife, and kinda near Central Park. Other than that, as long as I can get there from La Guardia, I'm good! So for someone who wants to be a tourist by day, and go out and get drinks (not clubbing, just a good bar) at night... what would you suggest? Thanks!

It's easy to get to Yankee Stadium (Bronx) by train, you don't need to stay near it. If you're staying in midtown Manhattan, you can get to anywhere easily, really. The subway goes to most places you would want, and you can walk up to Central Park.
