Redwood NY
I was wondering what Redwood was like. I am thinking of buying a summer/rental place on Grass Lake. Can you tell me if this would be a wise decision if marketed well?

The lakes in that area are tremendous. The communities around them are great, too. You should also consider a summer/rental on the Lake Ontario shore or the St. Lawrence River shore. My favorite place near Redwood is Crystal Lake. There are several there. On Lake Ontario I recommend Knobby Knoll, about 2 miles south of Sackets Harbor.

Crystal Lake
Growing up in upstate ny, my family always took me to crystal lake. my aunt and uncle had a camp up there. to have a great summer vacation this year i figured i would go back, and buying a camp is a possibilty. to anybody else crystal lake is a great place, and i think the owners would let the whole property go for around 750,000 but i dont represent them. it is quite a nice lake with lots of interesting people.

Redwood, New York
Does anyone know how to get it touch with Robert Rusch. I met him in Nogales, Mexico and have lost contact. I'm currently in Cabo San Lucas.
Thanks for your help

The Most Important Memories of My Life

I don't know about markets. I spent my childhood summers on Butterfield Lake as a child with my aunt and uncle and their son on an exquisite island dating to the Victorian era. At almost 60 years those days are the most memorable, beautiful and important memories of my life. I am looking for a rental there, preferably that island, so I can bring my grandchildren to the most wonderful days of my life.
One summer I caught the biggest fish caught that year. It was a Rainbow Trout that weighed 8.5 pounds as was 21 inches long...just as big as a big baby. It was weighed in at Catlin's store and frozen until I went home.
I still remember the loons screaming and skitting across the lake at dawn. We would get up then and raise the flag on the point. I was a Brownie and I taught my cousin how to correctly fold the flag.
I don't know the real estate but it is a place I will never forget as long as I live. If you want memories such as this...buy, buy, buy!

Redwood is a quiet area that is nice. I used to go to the 4H camp out there on Crystal Lake. I think you would enjoy your time up there.Remember that the time up there would be very limited in the summer. Make sure you do research on the weather and that you are fine with the short summer and low temperatures. If you have any questions feel free to shoot me a PM.

I was very interested in your writings. I also spent a good part of my summers at Butterfield Lake, Redwood, NY. Those days are long gone, but remain near and dear to me. I have many wonderful photos of the my family and the fish we caught, my brother driving the boat on the crystal clear waters, oh what fond memories. As I remember, we had a friend who owned a bar in Redwood, his name was Stubby. Man am I digging in the back of my mind. Thanks for helping me to remember the great times of my youth. I would love to go back to the area in the not so distant future.
