Default Danby the Sunshine School in Ithaca NY

I know there is a post on Ithaca already but I didn't want to pirate it! I lived in Ithaca when I was in grade 3. My dad took a sabbatical there. That was....27 years ago. Anyways, we were there right after the school opened and there was a vote to see what they should name the school. Danby the Sunshine School.

From what I remember I love living there. We lived outside of town in a house in the woods. The trails from the house were all named like streets. Cute! I remember going to a place where they had hybrid apples and we were allowed to take samples. I loved the huge ones!

I think that is where the ground round restaurant was. They played Charlie Chaplin movies and you could throw your peanut shells on the floor.

I would love to go back and visit some day!

Is there anyone out there who was at the same school around the same time? It think my grade 3 teachers name was Mrs. Barlow.

tc556guy is on a distinguished road
The Ground Round is long gone.
The Danby Elementary School closed a long time ago.
Danby overall has been behind the rest of the county in its growth but is quickly catching up.
