Want To Relocate To Upstate Ny (Rockland, Italy: good schools, live in, moving)

My husband and I collectively make about $110,000, have two children, an 8 month old and a 14 yr old. We would like to move someplace upstate thats affordable, safe, good schools and a better environment without moving so far away...HELLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!! And also someplace that is the most an hour away. We live in Brooklyn and he works in Staten Island.. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Upstate is far more than an hour away from Staten Italy- anywhere is more than an hour away from SI for that matter.

One hour puts you in Rockland County. I would say you have to travel about 2-2 1/2 hours before you get to the fringes of "upstate".
