I visited Ithaca a few times and knowing the atmosphere I'd imagine it'd be good place for a same sex couple. It's a beautiful area having the Finger Lakes gorges nearby. The downtown is is polished and hip. I think it's a good place to live as long as you don't mind the slight isolation.

Not a problem.. accepted in Ithaca.. no problem... lots of lesbian couples w kids. You will fit in just fine! Very liberal place to live. I have several friends who are still together.. some who are no longer together and still raise their kids... lots of mixed relationships..
