yes I do...left LI in 1988...never to return, again (at least, not to live...my dad still lives there.) I do honestly believe that New York is a beautiful state, and it gets no better for living than north of Westchester county. I live in Greene Co. (near Catskill) and I absolutely love it.

A strong recommendation for Brook's House of BBQ in Oneonta, NY. I've been going there all my life and it's always been excellent chicken. The prices have gone up a bit in recent years but still a great deal for a relaxed and not terribly expensive meal.
Brooks' Bar-B-Q Restaurant in Oneonta, NY Also providing Catering and Specialty Bar-B-Q Sauces and Seasoning. As for a more formal dinner although not uptight I've always been pleased with the quality of the food at The American Hotel in Sharon Springs, NY. I've lived in a lot of places, traveled the world, and spent a heck of a lot of money (too much at times) on meals which don't measure up to what they've delivered. A big advantage to their quality is their control of seating times - only allowing on the hour seating ensures the kitchen isn't overwhelmed and the wait staff is running around like loose cats. A higher price point but I'd say worth the drive. The American Hotel | Dining |

I second the Brook's recommendation. Was there 3 weeks ago and it's still as great as ever...never changes, thank goodness! The current owners are 3rd generation of the same family....and the original owners are still alive!

Nestled in our little corner of the universe in the Mohawk Valley is an excellent restaurant, Church & Main, in Canajoharie NY. They only use locally grown organic food from the nearby farms.
