Default Thank you for the GREAT photo tour ScranBarre!

Fabulous! Beautiful photographs. It IS lush and green and if we took all the cars out of the photos I could almost imagine walking the streets of Ithaca when it was new and fresh. It has maintained it's charm, and the people look liberal and fun (the guy in the striped pants, yes!) and the VW police car?! That was a treat. I lived in Norwalk when I was a little girl, and miss the beautiful seasons and houses. You captured the essence of the town very well, and I wish I was there right now instead of typing this here in a new housing development in Bend, OR. I've been looking into Ithaca, and your post just made me realize that the beauty there is real & tangible, and that those tree lined streets with the historic houses do exist and are waiting for me to stand and salute them from their sidewalks. Thanks so much for the post. You totally rocked my day! Go Ithaca!!!!

Default No, no pics of solar panelled home

and even solar panels atop a Cape Cod home (I wanted to take a picture of this but there was a gay couple in the front yard passively watching me as I walked past, so I didn't want them to think I was taking pictures of THEM! LOL!)

LOL!! Very wise of you. In this day and age any and everything can be considered an issue that is distorted or taken the wrong way. On another note, I think people are moving to those places you mention, (Scottsdale, AZ for example) because those suburban cities are get hyped so much that it makes people think they're missing out on a lot by not living there.

How long is the drive from Ithaca to Windham and Hunter in the Catskills?

Ithaca is like heaven for me. That place always gives me the biggest peace of mind. When I'm there, I seriously have no worries, stress or any negative energy whatsoever. Its so beautiful, lush, green, tranquil and for me, romantic in some cheesy way. The pics are so awesome.

I agree with you Vegas Pilgrim. Besides Las Vegas there's really nothing going down in the Southwest.
