Default Thoughts on Katonah

I just recently started a job in Danbury, CT and have been searching for a place to move my family (wife and 3 kids--9 yrs, 6 yrs, 7 months). We've checked out pretty much everything in the area in CT and were wondering about NY. Looked around Katonah and it seemed very nice. Does anyone have any thoughts on Katonah? We like a good community with good schools, smart people, preferably liberal, and an environment where the kids don't get involved in bad stuff because they're bored.

katonah, chappaqua, pound ridge, armonk...really I dont think you can go wrong with anything on 684 side. Well I take that back..you dont want brewster. You may also like the town of southeast (closer to danbury)..that way you are closer to all shopping in danbury plus the train station in case you want to head in to the city for a quick NYC fix!. I live in the next county up in dutchess..and its really soccer mom central!

Katonah is beatiful with very high ranked school system and lots of activities for children. Other towns in NY you might want to look into are North Salem and Somers. Good luck!

Smile On Katonah

We have 2 kids - 5 and 8 - and want to relocate out of Darien, CT, seeking similar town qualities you mentioned. We're looking at Katonah and Fairfield, CT - very different but both good towns with diversity.
I toured Katonah elementary school and was incredibly impressed - 2 teachers per classroom and very academic. My only concern is how small the town is and if that's a plus or minus. FF offers more homes in our price range which is why we're leaninng towards FF.
