Who has best cell phone reception in plattsburgh area?
Hi,
I will be relocating to the Plattsburgh/Burlington area in the spring (can't wait!) but I need to change my cell phone carrier now and I was wondering what people thought of the various cell phone services and more specifically, who has the best reception! Thanks so very much for your input!

cell phone
We live in Schuylerville and have Cingular (now AT&T) and Verizon. The Cingular clarity and coverage is considerably better than the Verizon.

Cingular Doesn't Work in Plattsburgh / Burlington
Hi There:
We have Cingular/AT&T, and the coverage is extremely spotty, almost non existent in this area. We are looking to switch and wanted to find out the pros and cons of Verizon as that seems to be the best option so far.
Thanks

Verizon is what works best for me. Cingular was pretty horrendous.

Interesting. We traveled quite a bit recently (CA, HI, MO, LA) and find Verizon is awful, especially in Saratoga Area. Our Cingular phone is as clear as can be.

Verizon works the best right now...............
Hi...........Just to add to the discussion, I have friends who have Unicel, and other carriers, but almost everyone I know who has Verizon has no dropped calls or scratchy connections.......It also seems to work fairly well if you travel into Vermont via ferries, etc........Think Verizon has spent the most money so far in this area. Could change as area expands..........?

Follow Up Question to Wireless Services in Plattsburgh
Thanks everyone!
We have tried very hard to keep using our Cingular/AT&T service, but can access the signals at very limited locations (like a particular corner of the Walmart parking lot) and at very low strength (one or two bars at the most).
I guess Verizon does seem to be the best option, till AT&T decides to invest in this area.
A follow up question for those who use Verizon.. does it work well around the Old Base area.. close to the town houses there?
Thanks
/best

Answer to question...............
Yes!!! Live on the base area and always have 5 bars and haven't had any problems in the 3+ years we have been here. I will say that the only time I don't get a true strong signal is just around the McDonalds up near Cumberland Head at Rt 9..............Maybe between dishes or something but usually can use antennae and angle phone to increase strength of signal, but honestly cannot think of another area anywhere near or outside of town that is shaky.....................................
