HI , MADRID NY ISNT A CITY AT ALL .ITS A VERY SMALL FARM COMMUNITY NOT FAR FROM THE CANADIAN BORDER IN NORTHERN NY. THE TOWN IS PRETTY RUN DOWN WITH HOMES AND BUILDINGS BUILT IN THE 1800'S AND NOT MUCH ADVANCEMENT SINCE THEN.BIG EXCITMENT IN MADRID WOULD BE A LOOSE COW OR A BARN FIRE. THE LOCALS DONT PRONOUNCE MADRID CORRECTLY EITHER THEY PRONOUNCE IT -MAD-rid. IF YOU ASK A LOCAL WHERE MARID IS AND PRONOUNCE IT CORRECTLY ,THEY LOOK AT YOU WITH AS IF YOU HAVE 3 HEADS AND WONDER WHY YOU CANT PRONOUNCE IT. YES ITS A HILLBILLY TOWN .

I have lived in Madrid, NY my whole life and it is one of the worst towns around!
