Default Best town for Historic Houses

Hello. Which towns would have beautiful historic brick houses/barns like the one that was shown in the film "Marley and Me"? We are looking to be an hour from Manhattan. Thanks.

Plenty of places in Westchester that may be of interest. You can take a local Hudson Line train from Grand Central to your location of choice: Historical Sites in Westchester County

Marley & Me wasn't shot in NY at all. The old house at the end of the movie is in Birmingham, PA.

However, pretty much all over NY you will find tons of historic houses. There are a number of towns that go back to the 1700's and the houses are still standing.
