What are the best times to view foliage in places like Blue Mountain lake, Indian lake or Speculator?

Best resource is the foliage network: www.foliagenetwork.com
Click on "foliage reports" and then Northeast US, then the dates.
You can view prior years by clicking on "archived reports". Probably mid October is the most common timeframe for that area.

Some places are at the mid-point now. I've seen bare trees and snow on Blue Mountain when it was still pretty green down here.

Depends on the weather that particular year. If you get lots of cooler weather, the leaves turn earlier. I do miss our annual trek thru the mountains..........
