Looking for home rental in Lake Placid, NY (Peru: 2009, apartments)

Hi all,
8 of us have signed up for the Lake Placid Ironman next July (2008) and we're looking for a house to rent for the week near the start of the race in Lake Placid, NY. I don't know the area and I'm not having luck finding home rentals for that area online. I know down here in Captiva Island, FL there are a lot of house rentals that would fit a group such as ours. Does anyone know of a site or an agency for me to contact?

Hello Jill...I've done Ironman LP twice (2001, 2002) and my wife and I have a place 5 minutes from downtown LP....

Unfortunately our place is rented for IM week but if you are interested I can definitely hook you up with our realtor who deals with multiple properties. Best advice....unless you are an experienced Iron-person do the course once or twice before next July...it's a bit of a beast...

I am intersted in renting a house in Lake Placid. We are moving to Lake Placid in August and need a place ASAP. WE woiuld also consider rent to the option or to buy or to buy. Please contact me if you have any contacts or if you have a house.

Hello, I´m Christian Canaval from Peru. Im from peru, this winter we (a group of 4 and a group of 5 peruvians) are gonna travel to lake placid, we are gonna live there for 3 months because we got hired by centerplate, so we are gonna work in whiteface mountain. I would arrive on december 10th and i need an apartment not too far from main street because we gotta get the bus really early in the morning. If you rent apartments or know someone , please contact me. Of course, we got j-1 visas here in lima - peru; that document, sponsored by the department of state of the USA, allows us to work for 3 or 4 months legally in the USA, so our status is legal.
