Default quaint small towns or resorts with cheap lodging for thanksgiving weekend

We will are planning on spending a thanksgiving, the day before, and the weekend after in either Vermont or upstate NY. We hope to spend under $100, or preferably under $90 a night for lodging. For three adults. We will probably not be skiing. We would love a B&B or quaint inn, but realize at this budget we will likely have to settle for a motel - would prefer one that is walking distance to a quaint town though.

I realize this is last minute. Any ideas are appreciated.

Maybe Alexandria Bay or Clayton. Places to stay | Thousand Islands Region

I'm sure that there are many others.

I've always loved Old Forge.

Water's Edge Inn: Old Forge NY Hotel & Conference Center, Upstate NY Hotel, Premier Lodging Resort Adirondacks

Rates & Info | Adirondack Lodge – Old Forge

Lake Placid also comes to mind, but I'm sure lodging would be pricier.

Unless you just want to just hang out and relax, in which case that is always available

I actually love going up there in the winter time when it's NOT a tourist town Typically only a few stores will be open - the hardware store, etc - restaurants are hit or miss (although Slickers is almost always open) and of course The Strand movie theatre Alot of times the stores will only be open on the weekends because it's pointless to be open during the week when there's no one around

OP - another option could be Watkins Glen on the south end of Seneca Lake

I echo Finger Lakes. A friend runs a B&B in the area. It's called Logcabin-BB. The room for 5 says it's $139 a night.
They are a family friendly B&B. They are also pet friendly and do specify on the website that it's not good for people with pet allergies. Joanne and Bill are really nice folks.

Here's the web address.

To OP. I thought you were traveling with children. I reread and see it's 3 adults. Sorry about that.
