I'm going with Albany. Again.
A bit more expensive than 'Cuse, Rochester or Buffalo, but still nice, especially the surrounding areas (Northern Columbia & Western Albany counties, especially).
Less than an hour's drive from Lake George & a bit over an hour to Sacandaga. There are lots of closer, smaller lakes all over (Thompson's, Saratoga, Lyons, Kinderhook).

Thanks for the pictures. You don't happen to have any around Greenwich up by Saratoga and Albany do you?
