I live in Manhattan. I want to know the fastest and cheapest way of traveling from NYC to Binghamton which is upstate. Also, I would like to know how much the fare is and how long it takes. Please help me!!! PLEASE!!!
I guess given the price of gas these days, bus or car could cost about the same. You didn't mention whether you had a car? Greyhound leaves from NYC, it takes about 3 1/2 hours (according to their Web site) and costs $43 one-way. You can look up schedules at Greyhound.com.
It doesn't appear to me from the Amtrak Web site that they go to Binghamton or anywhere really near it, so I don't think train is an option for you.
Driving or the bus is it. I think shortline is cheaper than Greyhound- $35 or so, from Port Auth. to B'hamton. About 3 hour & 15 min., as long as there are no accidents, traffic jams, etc.
driving 17 west, or thru scranton,pa taking I-84 then I-81. PA is faster but more chances of traffic, 17 is much less traffic and very nice scenery
We come down on 17 and wind our way to cross at the Tappan Zee bridge. When you cross, Rt. 9 is great.
When you look for maps, try mapquest and go on multi route and go from your location to Tappan Zee then from there to Binghamton. Otherwise, it will default and take you over the bridges to Jersey.
