Default What has changed in Greene County?

My question regards the economic health in Greene County and trends in the last 15+ years. My family spent alot of time both in the southern tier Sullivan County Catskills as well as summers and winters at camp outside Tannersville. In the mid 1990's, it seemed Greene County was so strapped for cash, that they could afford to repair a bridge over the Schoharie? Creek on Bloomer road. I remember things were changing - old, time-honored hotels collapsing, businesses were struggling - even talk of scrapping some of the summer festivals at Hunter mountain because people chose to vacation in more "exclusive" venues out of the region. I've since moved, but plan on moving back east this summer, and hope to visit.
So, being curious and all - have things been improving? What is changing? And -How are the ski areas faring?
Thanks up front for any insightful responses!

How do you mean? What does anything involved with a presidential administration have to do with funding being sucked out of county/municipal coffers? The tax heavy gubernatorial administrations of NYS surely did more economic damage to upstate New York for decades than two presidential terms.
