Question JOBS, employment Upstate...where to look?

I have gotten great advise and info on this forum...what I need to know is where can I look for employment upstate in the developmental disabilites field ( working with mentally retarded adults). There is lots of experience involved, a masters degree and management/supervisory skills etc....This is the only thing from keeping us from upstate...Please help and thank you.

I'm so sorry, but the job market upstate (Glens Falls area at least) is horrible. There's nothing here. Look into the NorthEast ARC, that's a very small facility here that's for those with developmental disabilities. Also, there are several adult homes that I'm sure the ARC can put you in touch with.

I always wonder what people mean by "upstate NY:" north of Albany vs. north of NYC. Assuming the former, I suggest trying some of the "HelpWanted" sites:

capitalareahelpwanted.com
southerntierhelpwanted.com
twintiershelpwanted.com
adirondackhelpwanted.com

just to name a few.

Here's an exhaustive list, look for the NY listings:

Also, if you're considering Albany, check their newspaper, the Times-Union:

Monster.com can also be set to look in Albany.

Good Luck!
