I don't live in NY but my boyfriend and I are seriously considering it. My mom lives in Weedsport, NY and his parents (and us) live in Warren, PA, so we were thinking of in between somewhere. Hornell or near Rochester. I don't know all the towns but for the list of 10 places I could name a few I've been to.
Old Forge
Oswego (that's bigger though)
Canadaigua
Geneva
Bath
Pen Yan
If there are any that are somewhere around Rochester or Hornell way that are nice towns I would be interested too.

What about Geneseo, which has a SUNY campus and is about 30 minutes from Rochester? Perhaps places like Caledonia, Mount Morris, Hammondsport, Penn Yan, Waterloo, Alfred(another college town), Bath and Dansville may work too.
