I am trying to relocate from this horrid place. I was born and raised in NYC.,moved here now 20 years, raised my 3 children alone and want to come back home. I need employment, something affordable, liberal, approx. 2 hours from NYC, friendly people, also animal lovers. I have 3 dogs. I have no family and need support. Does anyone have info on New London, Conn. or Upstate,NY. I am 51 which is scary when you don't know anyone back home. Thanks New Yorkers for any help.

New London is more like three h from NYC - I know because I go up there all the time. It's also a very depressed city. Nearby, however are Lyme and Old Lyme - but they're VERY pricey....
