Pardon me if I'm a little confused about your post. What does the Mob Files have to do with what's going on today? The articles appear to be about the history of the mob, ending in the 80's.
DAY 1: The Mob Files - Utica, NY - The Observer-Dispatch
http://www.uticaod.com/archive/x8455...uled-a-suicide
Utica’s organized crime revisited - Utica, NY - The Observer-Dispatch
The last article even states that organized crime in Utica has been replaced with the drug trade. Or maybe the UticaOD is run my the mob

The mafia has not ended in Utica. That is a joke and a cover-up. Is is still alive and flourishing in Utica. The paper wants everyone to think it has ended. A former teacher, who now has a profile position has put a contract out on a former young teacher because she flipped out, attacked and then hid her tracks. She was forced to retire and due to those circumstances, vowed revenge.
this old teacher bragged she had all the xxx! Someone had a suit against a former DA, now that guy is in the slammer.
Angela Elefante, the daughter of the late Rufus Elefante was allowed to take and keep monies from the Utica City School District that she was not entitled to keep.
Contracts are very often violated unless your of the socialite society.
Take a look at the way the police department has conducted themselves. Pylman, did toogood of a job and it was time to get rid of him.
Letters, were stolen out of a judges file.... and another judge harmed a crime victim in lieu of "grandstanding"
Certain indididuals are harassed publically and stalked.
The mob files is a cover up.

I think someone has been watching re-runs of the Sopranos again....
Utica WAS a mob town. Now it's a bunch of wanna be mobsters. It's got the same small town town political stuff going on as other small towns. They just happen to have Italian last names in Utica.

WIBX is saying the OD is running this series to help boost sales & to bring attention to the fact that they won a Pullitzer Prize many years ago (60, I think they said) for running a similar story about the mafia in Utica. The radio station is also saying that with many papers going under, the OD is afraid. I know they print much more local info than the Little Falls Evening Times does. If we want info about what is happening in LF, we read the Utica paper.

I won't say the main reason I moved out of Utica was the mafioso attitude, but I joked about it every week with my friends until I did move. I'm a blonde hair blue eyed guy, how will I survive in a town full Soprano wanna-be's? And I'm 1/2 Italian!! No matter where we went, I felt I was at a Soprano's casting call!!
Utica will always hold a big spot in my heart and it was the place I was born and raised and spent 25 years of my life. Not to mention all of my family is still there (Lord help them.) However I cannot even begin to tell you how glad I am that I am out of that place. Do I miss a lot of what central NY has to offer, certainly. Being gone from the place for quite some time has allowed me to see the good that does exist there. But do I miss the actual City of Utica and all of it's corruption and political BS, absolutely not.

sswebb37- Moderator cut: personal attacks Yes, Utica has its bad parts, but tell me ONE city that is perfect and drug or crime free. IF you can name one, I would be very surprised. I have lived in the Utica Area my whole life and It is not a bad place to raise your family. The opportunities may not be as great as other cities but the traditions and family value here are high. So, before you Moderator cut: personal attacks I went to college in Syracuse and moved back here and I am not on crack. Thanks.
