That's a good point, I would agree. (I tend to forget it's there, never have a reason to go in that direction.)
I've only been through once, but I remember it looking alright. I can see why it could be forgotten about, because it gets pretty rural as soon as you go east out of the city versus other sides usually having suburbs and shopping close by.
Bet this is a troll question intended to bring out the Binghamton haters-those people who have lived or traveled in areas outside Binghamton and who don't have 5 generations of E-J workers to look back at fondly. It is a one factory town which lost its factory. It is a small Detroit. It is a pit.
