Default Did anybody here just recently move back to NY?

Did you relocate to another state and then decided you missed NY so much that you came back? Where did you go? How long where you there? What made you return? And most importantly, now that you are back, are you glad you did?

My husband and I are from the Utica/Rochester Ny area and currently live in Raleigh, NC and have been here for 7 years. In that 7 years we had 4 kids and miss our families tremendously so we are trying to get back up there!

Have you done this?
Tracy

Yes....my wife and I were born and raised in Rochester, and moved to Raleigh (we ended up moving all over Wake County though, lived in Apex last) with our oldest 2 kids about 13 years ago. After all that time, we missed Rochester and our families so much, we moved back to Greece this summer with one more kid in toe. Best decision we've made in a long time and it feels GREAT to be home!

My brother and his family just did. His wife taught at Ball State, and now teaches at Buff State.
They love it back here....change of seasons, the food, the friendly people.....they are less conservative then I am, and felt stifled in Indiana,......me?, I think I would like it there better. Many of the things they list as negatives I would list as positive, but to each their own. I'm glad he's back.

I would love to move back to Western NY - however, we are trapped in NC - if we could inherit a free house I'd be back tomorrow.

As they say, "Hey, you never know". I play it. If I win a decent amount, I will be back in a NY minute.

Same thing except the high taxes kind of scare me.
