Default NYS education 06/07 - 506 schools/56 districts Needs improvement

While providing a link of education in a different thread, I found out more to create a new thread for discussion: 506 Schools and 56 Districts Are Identified As Needing Improvement

Here is a good pdf link of schools not in good standing

It covers all the Counties in New York State.

School Accountability Status For The 2006-07 School Year
Based On Performance In The 2005-06 School Year

Here is another link going back to 2002/03 school years.

It figures, my kids district-Wappingers is STILL on that list for BOTH junior high schools-Van Wyck and Wappingers Junior. Stay away from Wappingers people-it's really still on a downward spiral.

Our school board here is a puppet for the Teachers Union-so until the lot of them are voted out, don't expect to see improvement here. Right now-they are also test piloting a attendance program that Suffolk County Schools had in place. So they are basing city ideas here now in Wappingers-bad enough that the district they are modeling after filed for bankruptcy. Wonder if we are next.
