Looking for charming, family friendly town within 2 hours of NYC
We currently live in White Plains, NY in Westchester County and would like somewhere less suburban/urban and more small-town like. We have three young children so need somewhere with a good school district or close to a good independent private/Waldorf school. We are not interested in a place with a lot of sprawl, but rather a charming town with curb appeal and sidewalks. My husband works in the Bronx, so must be able to have a commute of less than two hours. We visited Rhinebeck yesterday and liked it. We ruled out Hyde Park and Poughkeepsie. Where else should we consider? Woodstock sounds great but is too far away...
