What do you exactly mean? Where are people friendlier to each other? Can anyone really answer that accurately, unless they have lived in all the mentioned places?

I have lived in 3 of the many you mention. And there are idiots in all of them. I don't think you can fairly answer this question as every town has unfriendly and friendly people.

I thank the MOD(S) for moving this Poll here - I was thinking the same that it should've been posted in the general NY forum too after it was too late and had posted it in the original locale.

Not only is Buffalo an All-American City, it's also The City of Good Neighbors.

Quote:
USA Today named Buffalo the winner of its 2001 "City with a Heart" contest, based on a reader poll in which dozens of Buffalonians wrote in with anecdotes illustrating why their hometown was the nation's "friendliest city." (2/12/01) Long-time residents of the town that has been known since the early 20th century as "the City of Good Neighbors" were proud and gratified-but not surprised.

I've always come across very friendly folks when I've visited Manhattan. I especially love the kind folks in Greenwich Village who check me out when I walk by and make me blush---I don't get that in Scranton.

I know, I'm sorta in agreement with andybuildz, who said "it's impossible to answer". Since this poll is not in one of the sub forums of which are all associated with downstate New York makes it general NYS conversation, right?
