Prattsburgh
Does anyone know about Prattsburgh, NY. My daughter's friend may be moving there. What's the town like? Are there employment opportunities? Any and all information would help. Thanks.

Prattsburgh is a very small village just to the west of Keuka Lake, not far from Avoca. It's in a rather isolated part of Upstate NY and is a pretty good haul to Rochester, Geneva, or Canandaigua.
Are you sure you don't mean Plattsburgh?

No, I do in fact mean Prattsburgh. I'm a little concerned because it seems like it's a little town out in the middle of nowhere.

Prattsburgh
I live about 20 miles from Prattsburgh - and to say it is is the middle of nowhere is an understatement. Although it has a pretty town green it doesn't have a lot going for it. No industry, shopping, tourist areas, attractions etc. It is very very rural with the closest town of any size being Bath or Hornell and believe me they aren't shining stars in any way either. Why is she choosing Prattsburgh? Where will she work?

She's not really choosing it. She lives with her Sister and Brother-In-Law. They have made the decision to move there because they cannot afford to buy a house here on Long Island. She really has no place else to go, and a young kid does not have enough income to afford an apartment here. I am concerned about where she will work. It doesn't sound like there is much in the way of jobs up there.
