CONFORM!!!...HAHA just kidding. Actually, the whole "pop" thing is slowly fading in Rochester. You don't hear it as much in the younger generations; my kids all say soda. Althought that may be because they spent most of their childhoods in NC. Just don't ever say you don't like Wegmans and you'll be fine!

Times Useless", "Troylet", &tc.) Rochester is just such a more positive place. All the natives love it and it actually has its own CULTURE. I now dread winter and summer breaks back home in Albany. I would love to ride my bike on one of Rochester's many awesome bike trails. In Albany, there is nothing but concrete and highways next to the Hudson River. I want a garbage plate. Albany's home dish is the... um??? Price Chopper $5 Pizza on Fridays deal? Heh....... I will definitely look for a job in Rochester after college.

Really, the only negative thing I can say about Rochester is the whole pop thing. Even if I spend the rest of my life there I will never say that.
I used to say pop until I moved to albany and every one made fun of me so since I moved back to rochester I say soda but I still say sucker instead of lollipop.

Juppiter--thanks for actually sharing something positive about WNY (the whole purpose of this thread, need I remind a certain someone).

I'm a huge fan of the bike trails too! In fact, just this past year I purchased a road bike, and when I had some free time at school I'd just hop on the canal and head to Schoen Place in Pittsford from UR. It's a really nice ride.

I think it would be a great idea to connect all of the trails in the county. For example, there currently exists a paved trail from the Parkway to Ridge Road along 390, the canal trail from Long Pond Rd to Schoen Place, the Genesee Riverway trail from GVP to Charlotte, and one along 104 in Webster that I'm not too familiar with. With the cost of gas on the rise, what an incredible resource to have to facilitate cycling to work, and for recreational purposes as well. I'm certain it would garner quite a bit of positive attention for the city of Rochester too.
