Tell me a place where you don't have to have money to have nice suburban homes and hot tubs?

Our well manitained and comfortable homes are really tenament buildings in disguise. We've got like 10 families to each house and we all work as cashiers at Wegmans!!! Oh the misery! Pittsford is really a trailer park on the canal too!!!!
Wow, iminformed, you really do live in a pathetic part of the world....how pray tell do you stand it? Oh the horror of it all!!!!

I know right?!!?! I'm thinking of moving to Fellujah. I hear life is so much more worth living there! I know you live in that same horribly depressing place as I do, so you should come too!! What are we thinking?

That was my very point! That the rich tend to enjoy the place they live in more, and can enjoy nature's bounty, and given that many in Syracuse are facing poverty, they are unlikely to be raving about it's positive sides.

Gross wages mean nothing when the state, county, town and SCHOOL DISTRICT taxes most of it away from you. Grunch the same statistics with NET take home wages and I bet you get a whole different number compared to states like FL, NC, MO, WV etc.

FACT: Buffalo is the second poorest city in the USA. You can't do a wage average when many people earn no wages (public welfare payments).

You said the streets are never plowed and I posted a picture that they are. You said there's no traffic, I posted a picture of traffic on the 90. You said the sidewalks are not shoveled, I posted a link (from the City of Buffalo) showing who's responsible for that, you say that we're too poor, I posted factual data showing we're not as bad off as the national media pictures us to the entire Country. Since I have kept up with contradicting your negativity of WNY, now you've jumped to school districts and welfare.

I wrote it somewhere here before, but I'll say it again:

Quote:
New York’s Medicaid program costs Upstate taxpayers about $1 billion more a year in state and local taxes than it would if it matched the national average per recipient.
However, when you look at the stats comparing medicaid & assistance to medicaid only, readers get a better understanding of it all.

Quote:
July 2007 - September 2007
Erie County:

Medicaid & assistance
Children 8,337 Adults 2,283

Medicaid only
Children 29,125 Adults 11,046

Medicaid Average Monthly Beneficiaries 106,711, and as compared to the quarter prior (April 2007 - June 2007) it was 111,587.
Exactly what numbers/hard data have you brought to the table, hmm?

As per school districts, with the exception of Buffalo, all municipalities within Erie County put their school budgets to vote every year. It isn't a shame on the WNY area that here (in this county) the people have the prividge of accepting or declining their own school budget within their own school district by the people's right to vote.
