Would this even be practical in the least? People commute every day between NY and NJ
Let's see -
Buffalo to Philadelphia - $150 nonstop - earliest flight leaves Buffalo @ 530am, arrive 642am - 1hr 12 min
Drive Philadelphia to Cape May - 95 miles, about 2 hours one way
So the trip is about 5 hours, best case, in each direction (assuming airport traffic, boarding, gate, security, etc). You will need a car in Philadelphia. Your 2x/week airline cost is $600 round trip total. You also have tolls on Garden State Parkway and Atlantic City Expressway.
I would not call this practical at all, mainly due to the distance from the nearest major airport to Cape May, and (for me) the cost.
I'm still trying to figure those people out who commutes from the Poconos to NYC everyday. The monthly cost of transportation and time wasted is a lot more than just finding a nice place within 30 mi of NYC.
