Not a hopeful article about the Trebloc proposal (from the Ithaca Times):

Man....I wonder if the developer was honest about the statement of everyone being on board or if that was an assumption? It appears that the board wants the development, but not in its current form.

Yep, that's the feeling I got as well. Ithacans can be a fickle lot.

I can't remember if I posted this link to an animated video showing the proposed Trebloc building:

So is it too much for downtown?

I think it would be a good fit and would kind of be a symbol of the progressive, pro growth and development nature of the city. That's just me though.

Well this is welcome news. Of course it's not set in stone, but at least it's a positive sign for a new tallest in downtown Ithaca. From the Ithaca Voice:

'Harold's Square' project to begin on Commons in 2016

Looks like there may be some movement on the Hotel Ithaca project (from the Ithacating blog):

So what took so long for Ithaca to be developed? People say it's because of Cornell, but it's been there for over 100 years.....what changed? I'm not complaining! I'd much rather go to Ithaca than Rochester.

I think it has to do with the change to a more higher education based economy with the aspect of innovation included within the last 3 few decades or so.
