Abatement starting Monday lasting through August, then demo in September...according to there timeline on the Blog. I did not see anything other than a Building Permit on the window and a small dumpster out back today.

Thanks for the info.

Here's an article from the Ithaca Voice regarding some property purchases:

Interesting.

Here's two articles about a zoning change which will have quite an impact on the city.

From the Ithaca Times:

Common Council makes Waterfront's new future finally official | Ithaca | ithaca.com

From the Ithaca Voice

https://ithacavoice.com/2017/08/expl...ned-mean-care/

I guess it will be a wait and see as to how developers react.

Ithaca Voice article about a possible site consolidation of Ithaca's governmental offices. This would have quite an impact on that area fo downtown and fee up some sites for further development:

https://ithacavoice.com/2017/08/city...entral-campus/

Another Voice article about grocer Aldi expanding their store in an underserved area of the city. Of course this is near the recently rezoned "Waterfront Area" which could be a response to the hope of more residents moving to that section of the city.

https://ithacavoice.com/2017/08/dont...dis-expanding/

Two articles from the Ithaca Times bring some good news for downtown, and a hopeful change of attitudes for some of the public on affordable housing.

The CF Credit Union moving to the old First National Bank building downtown:

CFCU to move its headquarters to the Commons | News | ithaca.com

Not a resounding endorsement, but at least some support in Trumansburg:

Some say yes to Hamilton Square | Trumansburg | ithaca.com

Passed by Aldi on N. Meadow St. just north of the split several times on my last trip to Ithaca but saw hardly any cars in their lot. By contrast, Wegmans parking lot is usually jam packed as is their store.

Wegmans is awesome, but also a lot of people in and around Ithaca are well to do enough to not need Aldi.

Here around Elmira it's a different story though! haha Thank the stars for our Aldi.

Well, there still is a Wegmans in the Elmira area, not too far from the residents that live in the Miracle Mile area north of the city and the Heights.
