Is it just me or this much-hyped program a joke? If you read the statute (http://startup.ny.gov/wp-content/upl...P-STATUTE1.pdf), it's 37 pages long. And appears to have a lot of "hitches."

The tax information page is 50 pages http://startup.ny.gov/wp-content/upl...egulations.pdf.

I see where the job creation was! Someone from another state worked copious hours on bureaucratic double-speak and contradictory terms to create a giant FUBAR Catch-22 guideline for Start Up NY.

I haven't read too much into it, but everyone knows Cuomo is positioning himself for a Presidential run in the future.

The SAFE Act torpedoed any chance of an Electoral College win for him.

I'm curious about what happens once the 10 year mark approaches.

Yes. Start Up is a complete joke, and the biggest slap in the face to the businesses that have been faithful to the area and are sticking it out and taking the brunt of the largest state taxes.

This is stupid. You have to jump through hoops to get your business approved. I'm sure it's limited to certain predetermined conditions. We need to get back to the old days when average people would toile away at night in their garage or basement inventing the latest mouse trap and creating a whole new industry just by puttering around.

When you add all of the government BS, sometimes it's just not worth it.

why create this "groundbreaking initiative" instead of permanently improving state laws accross the board and lowering taxes?

Besides, some phony business from Arizona will come here and pay no tax for 10 years while I still pay 40%????????

HOW ABOUT YOU LOWER THE TAX BILL OF REAL HUMAN PEOPLE IN NEW YORK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
