I'm looking to possibly move to Rosendale with my 4 year old boy. But a few sites list cost of living from 96/100 up to 196!
Which is the correct cost of living?
i would travel to Kingston or New Paltz for work, and while I would have a car is there any public transportation?
What is the school district and how is it?
Pros and cons?
Thanks!

I would guess the cost of living is primarily based upon property taxes. Are you owning or renting?
I can't offer anything about the schools, but there are sites that would help you. Do some research.
Have you contacted the town and asked about public transportation? I can't imagine there is any.
Rosendale is rather charming in its way, but is quite isolated, and makes New Paltz look like the big city.
If considering a move there, I hope you have an understanding and appreciation for such an area before making such a decision.

I would be renting. It's an unexpected move and I looked up best places to live in Ulster. Rosendale just has my name on it. It's so beautiful, away from cities but yet close enough. I tried looking up schools and found mixed districts and no I don't think public transportation!

I would still take a drive before officially moving and am looking into other places as well but this is my fave.

Nice place. Most of the communities near New Paltz are great places to live.

Rosendale has more to offer than I've ever seen before. They've "clean it up" and are creating a nice community there. It's still evolving. Many caring community members have volunteered to create events for the public to enjoy. There's a rail trail nearby, as well as the community college, and a Park & Ride lot for commuters. This is a very, very small town.
