It doesn't define the different areas of a zip code. Mine is for an entire town - a large town. I found the age and the # of people okay, but not the income ( low) or other features ( their "definition" of the townspeople accurate. Then again, I live on the border of a town that is entirely different ( by about 2 roads) . Closer to Buffalo, this is drastically different: younger, more crowded, etc. You need census plots or tracts, not this.

Zip codes can still be pretty broad and I think the info is from 2010. I personally like using this website due to being able to look at information at smaller levels: USA Location information - USA.com

FWIW, this took ONLY the villages of Lancaster and Alden . It entirely forgot the rest of both towns, even the parts in the zip code. It did not use any designation for the older hamlets which are outside the villages and in the zip. Basically, this is just like what City-Data uses -- and it is wrong.
Lancaster is zip 14086. The town has over 37,000 people. If you accept this site, it is only the village and under 11,000. It covers under 2 sq. miles ; the town is close to 37-39 sq. miles. Alden is zip 14004. It also only shows its village. I do not know their town population. However, I live 5 miles from one village and close to 6 from the other --- and a lot of people live in that 11 mile stretch of land. This website is only good if you just want the small population centers.

What you can do on that site is that you can view the census tracts and census block groups, which actually have accurate information when you compare it with American Fact Finder information.
You can view information by zip code on that website and in comparison to this site, it has information this site doesn't. This site may have some info that site doesn't, but it tends to be older information.
Yes, but when comparing the websites with American Fact Finder/the census that other website has more accurate information or seems to be that way. Each offers some info that the other doesn't though.
I also think that the other website is great for finding out certain criteria that posters may be looking for.

It may be older, but it does the entire towns. Much more valid -- Lancaster is getting encroached on by new housing ( wish they would ban it), so if you add the new housing on old farmland? Probably about right

If you are looking for towns, I suppose, but when looking at neighborhoods(think census tracts/census block groups) within a town or zip, the other site is more accurate.
