It's a small town that has a few shops but in the summer time it is a huge hasidic destination. A lot of the jewish ppl from the city come in the summer, which makes the traffic annoying. S.Falls is about 5 minutes from Monticello, which is the heart of sullivan county. South Fallsburg is also 90 miles from NYC.

This is a town that has 78% of the people off the tax rolls. Huge Hasidic population that does not pay taxes. For a 3 bedroom house in Woodridge, 1/3 acre, tax is around $8000 per year of which over $5000. is school tax. There is also a more than average welfare population. I lived there for 25 years and I got out!
In Contrast, I own a house in the Southern Adirondacks, near Amsterdam NY and I pay $440 for village and town taxes, $700 for school tax, and I own 1 acre, 4 bedroom house w/ 3 car garage. I get better town services, very little on the welfare rolls and NO HASIDICS! We do have Amish who pay their taxes like every other normal hardworking non free loading person.
Now if you can live with that, then there are also some really beautiful areas in Sullivan Co once you get out of Fallsburg. Delaware, Bethel, Callicoon, Gramsville, Cochecton,Frost Valley area, Peekamoose, Rt 97. Areas to avoid: The entire town of Fallsburgh, which consists of the village of Woodridge, Woodbourne, Mountaindale Loch Sheldrake, Hurleyville, all of which are totally rundown and will never change, any area that the Hasidics live, Walmart on any day except Fri evening and all day Saturday,
Why the hell would anyone want to live in Fallsburg NY???
I DARE ANYONE TO PROVE ME WRONG ON ANY ACCOUNT.

I will because I have seen the same stunt in other towns. What they do is claim a residence as either a Yeshiva or a Temple. A Yeshiva is a religious school and a temple is a house of worship. With either designation you are exempt of your tax obligation on religious grounds.
If you can drive through the town of New Square near Spring Valley. My daughter wanted to see it so I went in there for the 1st time in my 40+ year life. She was shocked (at 19) and asked what is this place, I said this is what the Warsaw Ghetto looked like in 1939.

Figure of speech, meaning that the community is a dangerous, dillapidated, crowded firetrap.

I detect a severely biased attitude on your part.

Not biased just observant. If you travelled through this community you would be appalled at the squalid conditions. The town has fought them for years to improve the conditions but they resist, their choice.
Please note there were no statements made as to the residents or their choice of lifestyle.
