Default Wellsville

Anyone know much or anything about Wellsville? We took a trip up there last week and really liked the area, but we were only there for a day looking at houses.

We have a 1 year old daughter and are thinking about an offer in on one of the houses we saw. I am trying to get anymore information I can about the area. The house we are looking at is right outside of the village about 1 mile.

Anything you could share would be great!!! Thanks

The area is lovely. You should know that Wellsville had a Superfund site -- I think petroleum related. I think that it's been remediated. I don't know the details. Anyone know? The area is great -- and a mile out may well be perfectly fine.

I was born and raised in Wellsville!
I love the area, it's scenery is beautiful year 'round, and Wellsville is located in the Genesee River valley. They host the annual Great Wellsville Balloon Rally for hot air balloon enthusiasts every July. Wellsville is the largest town in Allegany County and has the best schools in the area.
It may have had a "Superfund site" as Timtheman stated but the oil refinery in the area hasn't been in use for over 30 years.
