Willing to pay for help in NY
I ask you to consider helping me in exchange for generous compensation.
I work with european students who want to come to the USA for the summer to experience America through work and travel. The program was created by the US State Department in the 1960's. The State Dept issues about 100,000 visas a year for students to come here from abroad to experience the USA. The State Dept allows privately owned companies to recruit the students. My job is basically to find the students accommodations and employment. One of the areas we are most interested in right now is the Adirondacks or other touristy areas in upstate NY. I need to connect with people who know the area and know property.
If you work with me you would receive a commission for finding each student a summer job. You would also receive a monthly income by receiving a percentage of the rent the student pays for their accommodation. To give you an idea "placing" a modest 100 students could net you about $7500 as a 1 time commission and about $3000/month for 3-4 months. 100 students is more than reasonable. 7 of us used to "place" 3000 students an average of 428 students each. If you are interested contact me and I will give you more details.
I would like to work especially with Real Estate professionals or property managers but I am open to speak with anyone that is interested. You might have all you need to begin, a phone, fax, computer, and knowledge of your community.
Also, if you have any suggestions that might help me they are more than welcome, I would be delighted to hear any feedback whatsoever.
Sincerely,
Patrick McCafferty

Patrick,
I would never even consider making money by skimming off a percentage of the rent a student pays while working a summer job. However, in the off chance that you are legitimate there are many inns in the Adirondacks that traditionally hire Irish students, Holl's in Inlet being one of them. Do a search and you can find many others.

Sgoldie, I knew there would be posts like yours. You are basically saying that I make my living by skimming off of other people. I detest this point of view and that is the only reason I am responding to your ludicrous post. I spend my life trying to find accommodations and jobs for students who want to come here and make more money in a summer than they would in a year at home. I would much rather spend this time with my family but I have to make money and I am glad I get to do something worthwhile to make that living, even if you consider what I do undesirable. I am sure you must have a much more fulfilling job. When you help a student put down wood on their floor that was once dirt, or move a loved one from a state run hopital/dump to a private clinic where they actually change the sheets and bring you food, then you feel free to crticize. In the meantime think again before insulting myself or the entire field of property managers across the globe who "skim" off of people rent.
While we are doing "I would never"s. "I would never" be so condescending as to look down on someone trying to make an honest living by helping other people and then go so far as to make fun of them on a public forum without actually seeing what I have done for people, and read emails from people all over the world thanking me for what I have done. "I would never" do anything other than what I am doing, because it truly makes a difference in peoples lives and they are more than happy to pay me for it.
People like you that sit around and pick fights on the internet really **** me off. I am asking for people to repsond who want to help not jerks who want to respond and offer condemnation and criticism on something they know nothing about.
All The Best to You Anyway,
Patrick McCafferty

As for everyone else please do not be put off by my exchange with Sgoldie. This person has hit a nerve, and I wish I could let it go instead of being confrontational, but close minded critics are my pet peeve. I assure you my willingness to confront someone like this has been an asset to our business and I am quite easy to work with. I would still like to hear from any of you interested in pursuing this or just wanting to meet someone of a like mind. Please feel free to contact me about anything.

Well I for one was already put off by the original post. Just seemed another attempt at some type of spam, I am surprised that it wasn't deleted. And to whatever extent you are saving the world it still is some type of vague financial scheme. You don't offer any legitimate credentials (web site etc) that this is not something on the order of sharing in financial riches with the President of Nigeria.
First this post should be in the classified forum, second Sgoldie is a long time great contributor of Free advice that I and many other people have benefited from here. So you hit a nerve with me when you decided to further your cause here by publicly bashing a respected member of this forum.
So I would say peddle your profit scheme in the classified section and leave legitimate forum members alone.
Thank you

Oh, I have stumbled upon an online fraternity, rushing to one anothers defense despite the fact that they were wrong. The fact is, you are bullies, and you are wrong. You use your "online reputation" as some sort of license to attack whoever you want and than expect no rebuttal. I came on here looking to network with professional people to provide a honest, professional, and long valued service. I AM A PROPERTY MANAGER YOU IMBECILE! Last time I checked that is not a "scheme" to benefit the "President of Nigeria."
Furthermore, what has the world come to when the only example you give as a possible credential is a website. I have no website, I have a 6 year history of dramatically increasing earnings and revenue, and expanding our services.
Finally, I don't see anything above about a "vague financial scheme." I see a much more detailed outline then I should have provided about the compensation plan if this is the type of response I am to expect. If it is then I will not continue to waste my time, this will be my last post here, and you may have the last word. Hopefully there is someone out there who at least has a little professional courtesy if not an interest in what I am doing.
I will be happy to post this in the classified section, that is the only useful piece of advise or even civil discourse I have had as of yet here.
Bovina, to others your opinion might be of some value, to me it is useless, so kindly shutup and let someone reply that actually has something on topic to say.
Sincerely,
Patrick McCafferty
