Question Best schools near Corning, NY?....family friendly vs. Ithaca or Cortland?

Our family is considering a move to the Corning area and I would love to know which are the best school districts close to Corning. Any specifics you can give on why a particular district is noteworthy would be appreciated.

Other possibilities for us are the Ithaca and Cortland areas. In all cases, we want to live out in the country, and not right in town. Which of these three towns is the most family friendly - best schooldistrict(s)? good public libraries? recreation facilities? cultural events for children? etc.

Any info you can give that would help us find the best place to raise our family would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
