would that be a nightmare commute or is it feasible on Metro North/subway?

about how long might that take door-to-door to 28th and Queens Plaza?

It's not that bad actually. Take the metro north to grand central station, and you don't even have to leave the station to catch the 7 train. Take it easy bound towards flushing and the first 3 stops (Vernon/Jackson, Hunters Point, and Court Sq) are all in LIC. It might take like an hour or so? Give yourself 90 minutes to budget for inevitable delays.

thats not too terrible. could get a lot of reading done too.
