Good Morning All,

Hope everyone had a great mother's day weekend.

Relocated to the Washingtonville, NY area, and my house uses well water. Already had the well tested, and I'm presently trying to find the best water treatment system / whole house water filtration system to treat my water. I have the rotten egg smell and staining in my toilets). The Water Source (Kinetico system - may use salt, don't remember) and PuraSoft (uses potassium) have been to my house to give me their sales pitch. Water Source is less expensive in comparison to PuraSoft. I've spoken with the Life Source Water, and the system is close to $8K, but they do not use any salt / potassium. I've found Evoclear last night, and intend to contact them today about their systems.

I'm not interested in a softener, as I read online that really does not treat the well water.

Very interested in what other families in the area are using to correct their well water issues.

I appreciate the suggestions.

Thanks and have a great day!

Anjanettea

This is what I installed to take away the rotten egg smell. I put it in 3 years ago and left
my water troubles behind! I would recommend a whole house sediment filter on the upstream side, just remove larger particles before it gets the unit.

Hi Freddy,

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll reviewing the link during my lunch break.

I should have included the below information in my original post....sorry about that.

Based on my well water results (National Testing Laboratories), this appears in my water:

1. Calcium 43.7 mg/L
2. Iron 1.850 mg/L
3. Magnesium 12.45 mg/L
4. Manganese 0.188 mg/L
5. Silica 11.9 mg/L
6. Sodium 38 mg/L
7. Zinc 0.017 mg/L
8. Alkalinity (Total as CaCO3) 200 mg/L
9. Hardness 160 mg/L
10. Total Dissolved Solids 260 mg/L
11. Turbidity 1.4 NTU
12. Sulfate 34.0 mg/L

The salt based systems will not work for my household, as a family member has high blood pressure.

Hi All,

Happy Holidays to everyone. If anyone is interested, I decided on the Auquasana Whole House Filtration System. Have to remember to change the filters every 3-6 months, besides that, the system is ok.
