I stumbled onto this website looking for info on Malone NY also. My 22 year old kid is going to be working up there I think welding or pipe fitting for a prison. Not sure which one though. I thought I would do some research to see whats there and whats to do. Trying to get an idea of how big the area is and what rent costs for an apartment. From central PA near State College. Any info would be appreciated.

The area is extremely small...I am also 22 and let me tell you there is not alot for us 22 year olds to do around here unless u know alot of people and you can make your own fun...it might be a hard adjustment especially from PA near a college....rent is pretty cheap I think I posted to you before 400-600 everything included like lights and heat for a one to two bedroom. You can look in the local paper MALONE TELEGRAM or we have a ciruclar like with for sale things in it that shows all the for rents and for sales called the FREE TRADER that u can pick up just about anywhere....or go online they have it online too....any questions just ask i have lived here my whole ife

Default Marion's Bar

Just wondering if that is still up and running? My family use to own that in the 70's. Brings back alot of fond memories.

Post Is there a way to live somewhere else?

Not much for a younger person to do unless you go to Potsdam or Canton where St Lawrence or other colleges are................Good luck and even around Fort Drum there might be more single opportunities??????????????? Montreal is great and I am sure lots of people must go there for weekends. There is a club here in the Burgh on weekends called Olive Ridleys that gets bands from Albany and various places in VT for nightlife. Might be worth a trip and a hotel stay for the weekend. Not much in Malone, NY at all.........sorrrrrrry.

What about the Tri-Lakes(Tupper Lake, Saranac Lake and Lake Placid) area too? There's some stuff in those towns, isn't there?

Luckily, Canada isn't too far with Cornwall, Ottawa, Sherbrooke Trois-Riveres and Montreal not too far from Malone. You also have the Akwasasne Casino on the St. Regis Res too.

I am related to a family named Gero - last I knew they were living on West Street, by Lamberton Grade School. Had a bunch of relatives down there... Mike

Question gero

I have a Walter Gero, born July 02, 1926 and a Junior born July 6, 1958 - died August 19, 1958. In my family tree. Are these related to you? Sincerely Tina Pond!
