Suggestions on where to buy a place outside NYC
We are looking to buy a house or condo (~600-900k range) preferably with 3 bedrooms over the next few months. We currently live in Jersey City Exchange place area. Both my wife and I work in midtown Manhattan (53rd st between 5th and 6th ave) and have a one year old baby - here is our criteria - All suggestions highly appreciated -
1. Door to door commute no more than 45-50 minutes (close to trains to Manhattan)
2. Newer construction preferred
3. Shopping area and restaurants near by where one can walk around
4. Preferably some parks/waterfront near by (like in jersey city) where we can take baby for walks / cycling etc...
5. Must be safe and have decent public schools
6. Up and coming area to an extent (not hyper inflated already)
We are open to living in NY, NJ or Connecticut
