The Palace Theatre in Corning (link is to their FAQ)
I know Corning is technically a "city," but with a population of only 10-11k, I think it qualifies as a small town! And this independent theater is on Market Street, very quaint. The only other theaters I know of in the area are 1) in the Arnot Mall and 2) the Crystal Cinemas in Painted Post, which is in a strip mall and is owned by one of the bigger multiplex corporations.
We always go to the Strand movie theater in Brockport. We actually just went there yesterday to see the new Secret Life of Pets movies. Way cheaper ticket prices than the other maga movie theaters around. Plus they just added new plush leather seating and still didn't raise the ticket prices. So nice that a family of 5 can still see a movie for around $30.00.
