Wappinger Falls New York from South Florida (Catskill: affordable house, employment)

Hi, I have been on this post and it is totally cool. I am trying hard to decide where to move and reinvent myself. I live in S. Florida and it is really horrible here. I am originally from Manhattan, spent summers in the Catskills, love both worlds. Now having raised my 3 children as a single parent, that is why I got stuck here in the swamps I at 55, youngest 24 and Bipolar along with 2 English Bulldogs need to find a place to recuperate from the high stress. I have a disabled mother whom I cared for my whole life, a former husband who I left due to alcoholism, drug addiction, lost my home, and sadly my only support, my father last year. I watched as the poor healthcare system and a recalled malfunctioning Guident defiblerator, found out 6 months after his passing even though we called when he was alive and it was not on the list, due to Guidents coverup. Well, I must go forward now. The cost of living is so high, I work for a stuffy law firm with depressed people. I have a young spirit,formerr jazz dancer, artsy, love nature,(would be good for my daughter) animals and would like to be around caring, friendly people. I will need employment and a small affordable house where I can grow a garden and my dogs can be free to run. I live in an apt. complex that also has location in Wappinger Falls for the transition. Can anyone tell me about this area and how far is it from NYC. Would it be what I am looking for from what I have babbled on, sorry but it sure feels scary. Any info, please and thank you.
