Newfield is another Tompkins County hamlet that would fit, as the schools for the SD, some businesses and clubs/offices are on Main Street there.

Former villages like Ticonderoga, Seneca Falls, Savannah and Fort Covington would fit as well.

Perhaps parts of the hamlet of Vestal, where the high school, an elementary school and library is located fits as well.

I remember walking exactly once from the SUNY Binghamton campus in Town of Vestal out the Bunn Hill Rd access to Floral Ave in Johnson City. Looks more doable now on Google Earth with more walkways around the re-done traffic circle. Might still be missing sidewalks on that part of Old Vestal Rd.

There is a sidewalk on 201, which could take you across the Susquehanna. I wonder how many people have done this though.

Along Front Street/Route 11 in the Nimmonsburg hamlet/community in the town of Chenango also comes to mind.

Wow, lots of places that are not cities or villages that are walkable in NY.

Mumford just north of the village of Caledonia seems to fit as well.

West Elmira may be another place that would fit.

I believe that Lyons is another former village that dissolved that could be added to the list. Same with Port Henry.

Maybe the Dewey- Stone area of Greece. Also, just north of there by Northgate plaza, all of the new buildings are close to the road and taller. New zoning.
