I grew up out there, and (as I've said many times here), it is a life that is NOT for everyone. A home's low sticker price may not be worth the high taxes and other problems/situations specific to each area.

I think the part they are leaving out is some of the isolation and poor conditions of homes in that area, as well as across the southern tier in general (speaking as somebody also from here who grew up in some of the worst rural conditions offered by this state).
I never would've guessed that really. Granted, owning a home around here can be a better financial situation than in some other states, and that seems to be the basis of this alone.
