Are there are fair amount of people who prefer Gangster rap over Beast Coast raps? Does West Coast music get turned on loud back east?

In 2016, there's not really an "East Coast vs West Coast" thing anymore and people just listen to whatever they want

I like Welsh rap. Thanks to my influence, there is a small cadre of Welsh rap enthusiasts in NYC.

There is not beef or rivalry b/t coasts nowadays. West Coast artists like Kendrick Lamar, The Game, old school Snoop & Dre are popular in the northeast. There are a lot of Hip-hop "purist" here so any classic and/or lyrical artists get air play and theirs tours do well in the area.
